A Short Summary Perhaps?

Hmmm...this semester of leadership was...

GREAT. I got a lot of projects done and helped a couple people with their projects! Doing so also gave me volunteer hours. Not only that, but everything was very enjoyable, fun, and helped others and the community.

I got to clean up a road with a couple of friends and get volunteer hours; volunteer at a library to help patrons and citizens with books, also labeling books and helping the staff; rid our school walls of tape; plan a get-together for students to relax and have fun; and spread the holiday joy! All of these activities were extremely fun and went successful.

Also during leadership, I met many new people and friends, make signs and help decorate dances, and play ice breakers that are super fun. I don't regret taking this class at all.

Here are some pictures of us making signs and having fun during class.

Tape-Off-The-Walls Help Project Reflection

For this project, I took pictures and helped take tape off the walls. Also, I helped influence other students to take tape off the walls of our school whenever they see it around. This way, our school would look neater and be cleaner. This project was lead by Francis, therefore I helped him, but also I helped our whole school environment! Helping with this project really helped me learn about helping the school out. It also made many others realize that we should all keep our schools clean. Even though there is a janitor, he already does a lot of work. We should all help out for once since he's been heping us ever since the beginning.
Next time I think we should organize this event more clearly and maybe make some posters and put them on walls to inform people to take off some tape when they see it.
The pros were that a lot of tape got taken off and we got many people to help. Hopefully, people will continue to do this. The cons are that this was not very organized.

Take-Tape-Off-Walls Help Project

My third help project is lead by Francis Britschgi. His project is to influence others to take tape off the walls. Many people are already helping take tape off the walls. All of us are telling other people to take tape off the walls whenever they see some on the wall. Whenever we walk around the school and see tape, we would take it off the walls and we influence other people around the school to do it too.
Already, we see a difference. I am the photgrapher for Francis's project. I taje pictures of people taking take off the walls.
Also, this is a long term project. There won't really be an ending to it. We will just keep on cleaning up these walls until we graduate, hopefully. (:

Lead Project Holiday Decorations Reflection!

This Holiday Decorations project went well, just like my first lead project! All of the decoration went up nicely and looked great. The house owner appreciated this very much and loved our decorations! Even though it was tiring, we did well. Next time, I would definately not slack off and I would definately work faster. Doing this project was great and helped a  lot of people realie that we need more spirit everywhere and that holiday spirit is very important. It also helped me realize that time management is very important and that it always has to be organized.
The pros were that the decorations looked very nice and that we all took all of our effort to spread this joy. Also, we got treats after this!
The cons were that we had to rush a little because of the little time we had. Also, we kind of slacked on the first day and took a lot of time to figure out where to put what.
Here are some pictures!

Freshmen/Sophomore Get-Together Reflection

Good news! This project turned out very well. The get-together was very successful even though it was postponed twice. Many people showed and up and thy seemed to be having fun and laughing. I asked for fellow Freshmen and Sophomore's imputs and they said it was fun. One thing I think I should have done was bring more food and get others to bring more food too. I didn't think as much people would show up, since Anthea's Sophomore Get-Together didn't have many. I didn't expect much people. I think that leading this project was very important becaue it taught me how to organize everything from time to activities. Doing things on time is very important.
The pros were that many people came, the movie was great, the people had fun, it was a great time for students to chill and relax. Also, the get-together was right before info night. That's probably one of the reasons why people stayed to watch the movie waiting for info night to start.
The cons were that there was not enough food--since, again, I didn't expect much people to be there--but that's about it. Everything else went very well. Also, the room was a little messy afterwards.
Here are some pictures from the party!

Here are some pictures of Anthea, Tyler, and Francis helping me make flyers before the get-together.

Library Volunteer Reflection

For my second help project, I helped Tyler Christophr by volunteering at the Renton Library with a couple of other people. We all sorted and labled books for the library. We also helped fellow citizens with checking in and out! This project is importat because it taught me that helping people is very important. Many people need to do differenthtings but don't know how to, therefore help is always needed. Also, helping people is a very good thing and it adds character.
I think that next time, I would volunteer for a longer time and maybe for more than just one day. Also, I would try to work faster and better. Maybe try to help more people out.
Some pros were that we got snacks aftwards and we helped many people ot. Also, we finished labeling and sorting out books! This makes it easier for the library's everyday staff.
Some cons were that some people we tried to help out weren't friendly and deniedour help. But other than that, this was very fun and educational at the same time!
Here are some pictures!

Some Things Needed To Be Done

Some things I still need to do is the Freshmen/Sophomore Get-Together. This will be, for sure, held on Jan. 13, after school until 6, on a thursday. Everything is already panned for this. All I need to do now is wait for the date.

My 2nd project (Holiday Decorations) is already done. I finished in December and it was great.

Library Volunteer (2nd Help Project)

The second project I'm going to help on is volunteering at a library. Tyler Christopher was the leader of this project. The people who helped were Anthea, Lea, Lina, Yasi, and I. We decided to go volunteer at a library to help and teach people about the new check in/out systems. Also, we sorted and labeled books. We did this on a Saturday at the Renton Library. We achieved a lot!

Road-Clean-Up Reflection

Me and 5 other people helped pick up trash off a road. This helped the environment very much. This was Tyler Christopher's lead project and we helped very much! His mom was even nice enough to buy us snacks. Something I would change (if I could) would be the weather. It was very rainy and wet and we all got worn out very quickly. I would also change how we got very lazy after a while. This clean up project made me realize that no matter where you are, there is always trash and that people should stop littering. It helped me learn about ho great it is the help the environment and how to be a leader and start helping the community yourself.
The pros were that we helped the environment very much and we got community service hours.
The cons were that we all got very wet and tired.

Road-Clean-Up Volunteer (First Help Project)

This project was lead by Tyler Christopher. We picked up trash on a long road. Tyler, Anthea, Lina, Nina, Ariel, and we splt up into two groups of three and started on two ends of this road. The weather wasn't very great and was very wet and rainy, but we all tried our best to pick up as much trash as we can. Doing this helps our environment very much. This also, was 2 hours of community service! We went on a saturday and our mentor was Tyler's mom.
Very much trash was picked up!

Lead Project #2 (Holiday Decorations) Proposal!

(This proposal is a late proposal. I have already finished this project)

Why am I planning this project? Well, because I wanted to spread the holiday joy around neighborhoods! This will be good for everyone!

What will I be doing? I will be decorating  close family friend's house with Christmas decorations before Christmas!

How will I be doing it? I will have my mom as a mentor and she will guide me on what to do and how to do things. The neighbors already have all the equiptment and I'm just putting them up.

Who will be involved? My mom, since she's my mentor, my cousin, and a friend from my old school. ot anyone from leadership because our house is really far from where anyone lives.

Where will it take place? At my neighbors house, of course!

How long will it take? This will take 3 days. I will go to the neighbors house for a couple of hours on a friday, saturday, and sunday. (Consecutive days)

How much will it cost? It will not cost any money! I'm doing this just to help.

Now to be more specific, I am doing this project in order to make my neighborhood look livelier (not that it isn't already)! I will be putting up my neighbors decorations for them and decorating their whole house! They have all the materials so all I need it hard work and labor. I will also have different people helping me with this. My mentor is my mom since she's been putting up our own house's decorations every year so far. Also, she is a good friend of my neighbor. I will decide where to put everything and how to put it. The only thing I will be instructed to do is how to put those decorations up. Another thing I will need is time. I will use up 3 days to put up all those decorations, of course with the help of my cousin and a friend! We will all work together to put up very nice decorations and lights! Each of us will have a job. For example, one person would put up the lights, one would put up the sculptures, ect. We will all help each other, of course. Before we put up the decorations, we'll plan out what we want and where we want it. We'll only be working for about 3-5 hours a day with breaks, s we don't get too tired or lazy.
The expected outcomes for this project is a GREAT looking house. PERFECT for a Christmas party. There will be lots of spirit and the whole neighborhood will light up! Also, the house owner will love the decorations.

A problem with this project is time. We might have planned out too much time or too little time. We are very well prepared besides that. We have the warm clothes and all the decorations! The decorations are already provided by the house owner. All we need is the willpower and hard work! (We might also need some snacks and refreshments, but my mom will prepare that for us). I do not need anything else; from the school, or from anyone else. This project is very important because our neighbor has not put up decorations for two yars because they are too lazy to! So this year we decided to do it for them for the holiday spirit! This will spread more spirit thrughout the neighborhood. As for the time situation, we will try our best to have enough time to finish. We will work our hardest and we won't slack off.

After this project, we will ask the house owner how they like the decorations. Also, we'll lookwith our own eyes to evaluate how we did based on how the decorations looked and how hard we worked. I know this project WILL be effective andWILL be successful because I chose hardowrking people to help me with this. Also, I promse to work hard too. I'm sure we can spread the Holiday joy!

All the equiptment, once again, is provided from the house owner; the tools, the decoration, the lights, everything. We just need to bring our hard work and our warm clothes to this project. Some people who are helping me with this is my cousin and a friend from my old school. I chose them because both of them lie closer to me and my neighbor so this will be easier for them. Also, because they have always been the hardworking people in my life and always helped me when I needed it. My mentor will be my mom. I chose her to be my mentor because she has a great ey for decorations and always makes decorations look good. She will be with us when we are decorating to guide us and what's better to do and such. Also, she would tell us how to put up the actual decorations. I chose to do this project because I like decorating things and being creative. Also, I think I'm a decent worker! (:

There was no money costs for this project I selected. Just hard work and sweat!

We decorate on Friday, Dec. 10, Saturday, Dec. 11, and Sunday, Dec. 12. From 12 - 4 p.m. each day. We will do what we can each day in that period of time.

This project is worthwhile because it doesn't take up THAT much time, but it helped people get in the holiday spirit and helps neighbors have nicer looking houses. We WILL work hard and we WILL make their hoses look nice.

Dates Changed

The first planned date for my freshmen/sophomore get-together was Dec. 16th, but it turns out that Mrs. Fitz could not hold this on that thursday. So now, instead of using that date, we have changed it to Dec. 13. A thursday coming up. All the plans are the same; watching a movie, eating snacks, and just chillen'.
Hope most of 9th and 10th graders go!
